Assessment of autonomous and autogenous healing on cementitious grouts promoted by additions of microcapsules and crystalline admixtures

The demand for more sustainable building materials has led to the development of systems with self-repairing properties. self-healing technology been shown be effective in concrete and mortars, however, this is not often studied grouts. Cementitious can show an autogenous healing, i.e., intrinsic ability repair microcracks by themselves. This type healing improved addition crystalline admixtures. In addition, crack also enhanced adding other materials, e.g., through incorporation polymeric microcapsules into cementitious matrix that will promote a effect but, case, autonomous healing. Thus, main objective work assess admixture on viscosity water capillary absorption grouts (w/b = 0.46 w/b 0.39) were prepared containing (3% weight binder) binder). Rheological measurements sorptivity tests made. Viscosity taken at 3, 20 60 minutes. Sorptivity performed cracked specimens order quantify efficiency. Cracks created 7 28 days after casting was measured 7, 14 cracking. results showed changed considerably depending ratio agent type. Among all grouts, reference grout presented highest lowest. lowest regardless curing age ratio. Regarding admixture, both ages quite high.
